Aussies In London

A unique tax reference (UTR) number is a 10 digit code issued by His Majesty’s revenue and customs (HMRC). A UTR is used by businesses and self-employed people so that they can file their taxes correctly. There is no application process associated with receiving a UTR. Upon completing, what is called a ‘self assessment’ you will be assigned a UTR automatically and be sent a physical copy with royal mail.
