Dental appointments with the NHS can take from a few weeks to a few months. You will not always need to get a referral from a GP to make an appointment, most of the time you can call and make an appointment at a dentist office in your area.

It’s important to note that some NHS Dentist Practices may not take new patients, so you may have to travel to find a place with availability. You may also expect to pay a small fee (£26.80) as the NHS subsidising does not cover all dental treatments.
