Subletting works by, the legal tenant, finding the sub tenant and obtaining written permission from the landlord. As a subtenant, you will not have any legal responsibility and the legal tenant will act as your landlord for the duration of the sublease.

Most forums recommend to find someone you are familiar with to sublease your space, particularly if you have housemates.
