A Teaching Assistant (TA) is an individual who helps classroom teachers in the classroom. Teaching Assistants do not usually have teaching qualifcations, and no actual degree or qualifications are required to be a teaching asssitant. For this reason, it can be a perfect job for those wanting to hit the ground running with a job as soon as they arrive in London. Also, it can be a good way of seeing what it would be like to work in a school or as a qualifed teacher before doing any degree. Teaching Assistants are always in demand due to schools in the UK having to deal with so many more students than Australia, and teachers and schools can get overwhelmed in the cassrooms. A teahcing assistant can greatly assist the classroom teacher by handing out worksheets, encouraging students to stay on track with tasks, as well as doing what the can to manage behaviour so the lesson can stay on track.
